This privacy policy describes how the Plumly mobile application ("Plumly", "the app", "we") handles information when you use it. Plumly is published by Demiteks EOOD, registered in Bulgaria.
1. Information we collect
Plumly is designed to minimise data collection. The following information is processed:
- Preferences stored on your device: your selected country, preferred health authority, language, and optional pregnancy week. This data is stored locally on your phone using Android's standard storage mechanisms and is never transmitted to us.
- Search history and saved foods: stored locally on your device only.
- Anonymous barcode lookups: when you scan a product barcode, the barcode is sent to the Open Food Facts public database via our Cloudflare Worker proxy to retrieve product information. We do not log barcodes against your identity.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not require account registration.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location.
- We do not use advertising trackers or analytics SDKs.
- We do not share or sell any information with third parties.
3. Third-party services
- Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) — public open-source food product database, used for barcode lookups. See their privacy policy at openfoodfacts.org/privacy.
- Cloudflare — provides the proxy infrastructure between the app and Open Food Facts. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Google Play Services — for app distribution and crash reporting. See policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Health information disclaimer
Plumly provides general food safety information based on published guidance from health authorities (NHS, FDA, EFSA, ANSES, BfR). It is not a medical device and does not provide personalised medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your specific health circumstances, including allergies and pre-existing conditions.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
As an EU resident, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export any personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Since Plumly does not collect personal information server-side, exercising these rights typically means uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data.

6. Children
Plumly is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
7. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the app where possible.
